In 2020, sales increased from the previous year to 140%. This happened because a lot of brick-and-mortar businesses weren’t getting customers in and they had to turn to go online. Since they turned to go online, it presented a few little problems. Chargebacks are terrible and they sound just like what they are. Unlike a refund, your merchant provider actually charges you back. The customer actually goes to the credit card company and provides a reason to dispute the charge and that really looks bad for your company.

You won’t be able to get another merchant account and you won’t be able to sell online. It’s super important to keep your chargebacks low. We’ve had the same merchant account now for 11 years and we’ve never had problems. That also tells somebody else that if I go to apply for another merchant account, I should have no problem getting another.
